One of the most outstanding achievements showcased at APPTech EXPO 2026 was the remarkable success of Assistant Professor Parinwat Thanasiratheerachai, Head of the Engineering Management Program, Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, who received the First Prize in the Outstanding Research Excellence Category (Excellent Level) for his research project entitled:

“Forests that Generate Income: Enhancing Household Net Income through Appropriate Technology Transfer and Capacity Building for Community Innovators in Community Forest Areas.”

The award-winning research integrates engineering knowledge, Appropriate Technology, and community participation to develop sustainable approaches for managing community forest resources. The project aims to increase household income while conserving natural resources, addressing critical challenges such as forest fires and haze pollution, and improving the quality of life of local communities in a tangible and sustainable manner. The research is closely aligned with the policy of Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), which emphasizes the practical application of research to create meaningful impacts in local communities.

The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who delivered a keynote address and shared his vision on the topic:

“MHESI: Connecting Knowledge, Expanding Appropriate Technology, Empowering Community Innovation, and Advancing Sustainable National Development.”

The presentation took place during APPTech EXPO 2026: The Power of Appropriate Technology for Community Development—Empowering Community Innovators and Driving Sustainable Grassroots Economic Growth, held at the Vibhavadi Ballroom (ABC), Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, on August 4, 2026.

This prestigious award represents another significant milestone for the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, reflecting the outstanding capability of its academic staff to produce high-quality research with real-world impact. The achievement demonstrates the Faculty's commitment to creating research that benefits society, strengthens local communities, supports grassroots economic development, and enhances the University's reputation at the national level.
